3/9/11 Street stall during Gloucester Day - petition signatures collected.

 

3/8/11  Talk promoting campaign given at Linden Residents Association meeting. Literature distributed, petition signed.

 

23/7/11 Gloucester City Centre Partnership endorses the 20s plenty campaign, and has a working group looking at 20 mph limits throughout the city centre.

 

21/7/11 Lyn Ackroyd, coordinator of Linden Resident's Association, today pledged support for this campaign.

 

18/7/11 City Councillor Stephen Morgan (Conservative Party) today offered his support to 20s Plenty for Gloucester.

 

6/7/11 County Councillors Anthony Blackburn (Conservative Party) and Sarah Lunnon (Green Party) pledge their support to 20s Plenty for Gloucester.

 

2/7/11 - Expressions of support have come from residents and a parish councillor in nearby villages of Harescombe and Highnam, which don't have 20 limits.

 

1/7/11 - To date several letters have been exchanged with Gloucestershire County Councillor Will Windsor-Clive (Cabinet Member for Communities). He says the Council's current position is not to support Total 20 in Gloucester or anywhere in the county, citing the need for further evidence of Total 20's benefits.

 

22/6/11 - letter sent to Citizen highlighting risks to children from urban traffic, and how speed is a major factor.

 

18/6/11 - Our first public outing! Gloucester Green Party has endorsed the campaign, and kindly made space on their stall at the Gloucester Pride event in Gloucester Park this afternoon.

 

On June 17th 2011 a letter and supporting information was sent to Gloucester Schools Partnership (GSP), requesting their support. GSP represents 40 primary schools in the City of Gloucester.

 

Letters to local councillors, health authority, police and community partnerships, calling for 'Total 20' in Gloucester, were sent out on June 5th.

 

Press releases announcing our launch were sent out on May 27th.

 

The Gloucester group came into existence on May 19th, 2011.
